I was at my favorite gun shop looking at a variety of compact 1911s...I had settled on a lower priced 1911, however the dealer pulled the blued Amigo up on the computer and quoted me a price and told me to call someone we both knew and respected to confirm how great this gun is. I called the gentleman, who is a gunsmith and LEO; he told me to buy it..So I did. I picked it up today, wiped the excess oil off of it and I shot at least 10 magazines through it. Not a single hiccup, sights were to point of aim, and what can I say? It's an excellent pistol for the price. I have been carrying a full size 1911 for many years and the Amigo makes carrying so much easier. The pistol is very accurate and recoil is not a problem. Excellent buy on my part.
Well made, worth the price

I actually picked my Amigo up in a trade, so I have about $200 in to it. I was skeptical at first, and a little more at the lightweight recoil spring and it was stove-piping on my first trip. Pre-owned, so I have no idea what the Prev. owner did with that spring. I replaced the spring (two min job, and a $8 spring), and bought a fist full of Wilson Combat mags. After about 2500 rounds, I found a cracked "Reverse Plug" while cleaning. I called American Classic and they sent me a new one (no charge), AND a new spring. My Amigo (definitely my friend) is my personal carry, and I'm better with it than I am with my $1200 SigSauer. Accurate as hell, dependable, solid, limited muzzle rise, great trigger out of the box. Not only delighted with mine, but my 12 year old learned on it, and he is deadly with it. Highly recommend!! WAY better than my old Kimber UltraCarry II. Oh, comfy to wear as well. I have a Glaco SOB and it's slim, snug and quick to draw.
Great Gun great price

I bought my Amigo in 2013 as a CC gun, The only problem I had with it was FTF that was fixed with Kimber Ultra Pro Mags. Only 1 glitch with them. Since then I have expanded what I do. I am now a reserve Police Officer with our local Community Collage, a "Weapons Free Campus" and carry this little friend on duty. I qualified with a 97% and 98% on the range. Though I do want to go to a full 5 inch gun in the near future, this little thing is doing very well . The trigger is great right out of the box, another friend of mine got one about 7 months later and it has a great trigger also. All in all the most affordable 1911 on the market. You can bet your life on it....I do.
Try to do better

Just after I bought mine I ran into a man that owned a local private security firm. He carried 2 full framed Metro 45s but 300 rounds later I had all the reasurance I needed. This Amigo is the right gun for me and my, family. The price was just a bonus.
